What We Believe

The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible is the inspired all sufficient Word of God and it is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and Christian living. It is central to all our teaching and discipleship principles.

God

God is one living and true deity, eternally existing in three persons as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, Creator of the universe through whom and for whom all things were made, who became fully man to fulfill God's promise to send a Saviour to redeem the world back from all sin.

Salvation

Salvation is the work of God when we repent of our sin and accept the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and place our trust in Him. It is by the grace of God through faith and not by any human effort or good works.

Eternal Life

Eternal Life is only through the finished work of Jesus who died on the cross and rose again to redeem everyone from sin. It is through Christ alone and not by any human effort or good works.

Baptism

Baptism is in obedience to the command of Christ and is an outward expression of an inward decision to place our trust in Jesus Christ alone for Salvation. It is by full immersion which reenacts the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We recognize that children can have a real faith, however, we do not believe the Bible teaches infant Baptism.

Dedication

Dedication is a special service where parents / guardians give thanks to God for the gift of their child and acknowledge that their children ultimately belong to God. It is a time for a parent(s) to affirm their intention to raise their child within a spiritual environment where the child’s faith will grow and flourish.

Communion

Communion is a time when we commemorate the death and resurrection of our Lord. The bread and wine represent the broken body and shed blood of our Saviour Jesus Christ. We practice open communion, meaning anyone who has trusted Jesus as Saviour is invited to join us in sharing these elements together as one body.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Son in the Godhead. We believe that He indwells every Christian believer at the point of Salvation and is the source of our spiritual life, obedience to God and Christ-like behaviour.
